The Writing Area 

The writing area has baskets filled with different resources to give the children a chance to explore mark making.

This is a display where the children's 'Fantastic Writing' can be displayed for the other children to see.

 

 

The Water Area

 

The water area has two water trays and a variety of resources for the children to explore.

The Maths Area 

 

The Maths area has different resources. There is small tubs of natural resources for counting and sorting and big baskets with games and resources which are changed regularly.

The Structured Role Play

 

This is the area where the children get a chance to play different roles with their friends.

The area is changed every half term to reflect the topic. This half term the topic is 'ourselves' in Darwins and 'People who help us' in Drakes, so we have 'Propps Hall Hospital'. The children can use their imaginations to become doctors, nurses and patients.

The hospital has-

  • Prescription papers and clipboards

 

The Transport Area

 

The transport area is set up with different resources to support children in their small word play.

The children can build bridges, tunnels and ramps for the cars. They can use the paper to design their own maps and roads.

The Reading Corner 

The Reading corner is a lovely, quiet cosy area for children to enjoy reading a book. The area is Superhero themed, the children can wear masks and capes and sit enjoying a book. They can share a book with a friend, use the puppets to act out a story and cuddle a Superhero soft toy.

The book corner has information books and fiction books which are regularly changed.

The Construction Area

 

The Construction area is set up to give children all the resources they need to build their creations.

The children have a choice of different building materials, hard hats and paper to design their creation.

  • Pencils

The Home Corner

 

This area is set up just like a  home, its has all the things that children would see in their own home. The children have the chance to pretend play. In the home corner children can take on and try out roles from familiar family scenes, local community's experiences and imaginative fantasies.

  • Dressing up clothes

The Small World Area

 

This area has a range of different small world resources are in the boxes for the children to access whenever they want. Small World gives the children a chance to use their imaginations.

The small world area includes-

  • Zoo animals
  • Polar animals
  • People
  • Fantasy
  • Pirates
  • Dinosaurs

 

The Mud Kitchen

 

The mud kitchen outside is a great place for the children to explore the outdoors, they can use their imagination to make lot's of messy recipes, from mud pies to leaf and stone soup.

The mud kitchen has-

  • Metal cake tins
  • Mixing bowls
  • Metal spoons
  • Tubs of mud, leaves and sticks

Outdoor Construction Area

 

The construction area outside gives the children a chance to explore building and constructing on a bigger scale. There is many role playing opportunities in this area, children can design and create to make their imaginations come to life.

Outdoor area

 

We are very lucky to have a lovely big outdoor learning space. We have a lovely learning pod for children to enjoy a book or for group learning. We have a space for the children to use the bikes, balance bikes and scooters. We have a lovely planting area, where we take care of the flowers and learn all about nature. We have a space to explore the small world toys. We have an amazing tree house climbing frame and slide.
