Castleshaw Roman Fort

We will be visiting Castleshaw on Wednesday 7th October 2026. The children will experience life at a Roman frontier fort. The activities on the day will include:

• Making a time line
• Finding out "what the Romans did for us"
• Learning about the Roman Army (and filling out an application form!)
• Dressing in mock uniforms and trying out some of the most famous Roman marching formations
• Trying out some practical "archaeology"

This is a fantastic opportunity for the children to be immersed in real life historical experiences!
