The Snail and the Whale

Recap the story with your grown up by watching the video that you watched yesterday. When you listen to and watch the story, think about and look out for all the different places the snail and the whale travel to.

What are all of the different settings of the story? Where did the characters go? Tell your grown up where the snail and the whale went using time conjunctions (first, next, then, after, finally).

For example, First they went to.....Next they went to.....Then they went to.....

Remember, a story setting is where the characters go in the story.

When you have told your adult, draw a picture of your favourite setting of the story in your purple writing book. Then, if you are in...

Green and blue group - Write a sentences that explain where the characters went in the story using time conjunctions.

For example, First they went to....Next they went to....Then they went to...

Yellow and orange group -Write a sentence that explains where the characters are in the picture you have drawn.
Red group - Write a list of all the settings in the story (all the places that the characters went to).

(Your child knows the group that they are in. If you have not collected your home learning pack, please complete all future learning on pieces of paper and keep them safe. When your child is writing, remind them to use their robot arms to sound out words, capital letters at the beginning of sentences, finger spaces between words and full stops at the end of their sentences. I have attached sound mats to help your child to recognise and form letters).
